By applying updates, you manually trigger the processing of non-pending updates listed in the IDS Data Management form.
Prior to using this feature, you should review the non-pending updates to determine if any changes are required. For records that cannot be processed due to an application error, a brief description of why the update failed is provided in the "Reason" field.
The following corrective actions are available:
Change the update record. See Resolving Detained and Failed Updates.
Change the User and Service Template associated with the role specified in the update record.
Change the system configuration.
For example, if an update fails because the voice mail license limit has been exceeded, you can do one of the following:
Change the update record so that it uses a role that does not enable voice mail.
Change the User and Service Template so that it does not enable voice mail.
Change the system configuration to support more voice mail licenses.
After correcting the problem, you can then apply the update on MiVoice Business.
NOTES
If an update has failed due to a blocking operation such as SDS synchronization, wait the operation to complete. The system will then automatically attempt to apply the update. There is no need to manually apply the update.
You cannot apply updates to pending update records.
If you change an update to resolve a problem, you must then apply the same change to the record on the directory server. This is necessary because, in the current release, synchronization occurs in one direction only—from the directory server to the MiVoice Business IDS.
To apply LDAP updates from the MiVoice Business contact point:
Go to the IDS
Data Management form.
The total number of LDAP updates is given in the top right-hand corner of the form.
To locate LDAP update records, see Viewing IDS Data Updates.
Select update records by checking their boxes. Select all non-pending update records by checking the box located at the top of the list.
Click Apply Updates to apply the update records you have selected.
Click Data Refresh to refresh the main window.
The record status changes to "pending" and the system attempts to apply the data to the MiVoice Business. If successful, the records are processed and dropped from the IDS Data Management list. If unsuccessful, the records are returned to the IDS Data Management with an appropriate status and failure reason.
